between midnight and 2:00 a.m. this morning. these employees are out with picket signs at nob hill foods. nob hill is owned by bailey's--releas. again this begins at 6 raley's >> is across the parking lot with these signs. 8000 employees over 100 of these stores will go on strike. this is in multiple failed negotiations with raley's they want to slash medical benefits and they will go on strike as long as it takes. >> this is an ongoing strike is going to be

effective. when a strike is this type for this effective it is pretty short. that is where we are hoping for we're going to hit the stores and hit them hard. as you can see they are united in the background and ready to roll. >> the spokesperson the senate all the stores are open today they are using a non union employees. and for those people that are going to work will distribute them to the stores that need them. they do need to make some changes to the pay and freeze pay increases for a couple of years. they say to stay competitive in the marketplace. but they are not changing anything for the medical benefits which is exactly the main sticking point for a lot of these folks out here. clearly, plenty of details to sort through. the two sides are far apart. they will be out here as long as it takes. >> that is mike pelton thank

city of walnut creek is going to look for a new police chief. after law enforcement he plans on retiring next year. he spent the last five years working in now he wants to retire. they are going to cancel patrols in the downtown area because of simple shortages. he is expected to step down in the next six months-eight months. >> a rich one firefighter was injured by peddling a two-alarm blaze. he was taken to hospital after hurting his back. with it. businesses fire started in a barbershop and meeting hall no word on it because. >> a saturday night fired forcing dozens of people out of their homes. the exciting course the flames in a minute because of some help before the fire crews arrived on the scene. alicea. >> that is a dereding..

that several dozens of employees at this particular location with the nearly 8000 over 100 stores will go on strike. they say this is in response to several multiple failed negotiations with the company. they claim that they want to take away premium pay and to slash medical benefits. they will stay out here as long as it takes to get a fair deal. all of the stores however will remain open with non employees nine union employees. they did release a statement and this that said they are using non employee nonunion employees in these changes are necessary.... the to stay competitive in the marketplace. some of those changes his freezing pay for a couple of years and this is pretty detailed. just to
